Configuration

Jottler offers several configuration options to tailor its autonomous SEO agent to your specific needs. These settings are primarily managed during the onboarding process and through the Jottler interface.

General Settings

Autopilot Scheduling

You can set the frequency of article publishing.

  • Frequency: 1–5 articles/day

Multi-language Support

Jottler supports writing articles in any language.

  • Language: Set once during onboarding. All subsequent articles will follow this language setting.

Content Strategy Configuration

Audience Targeting (Marketplaces)

For marketplace businesses, Jottler can create content for different audiences.

  • Audience Categories: Tag categories as buyer-facing or seller-facing. Jottler will adapt tone, keywords, and CTAs accordingly.

Location-Based Content

Jottler can generate geo-specific content.

  • Target Locations: Configure specific locations for which the agent should generate content. This is useful for local marketplaces and service platforms.

Product Information (SaaS)

For SaaS companies, Jottler can incorporate product details into articles.

  • Product URL: Provide your product's URL during onboarding.
  • Features & Positioning: Supply details about your product's features and positioning. Jottler uses this context to reference your product naturally.

Content Clusters

Jottler automatically builds comprehensive topic trees and content clusters.

  • Refining Clusters: You can reshape your content strategy using plain English commands within the AI chat interface. This allows you to:
    • Add new topic groups.
    • Merge overlapping clusters.
    • Expand into untapped niches.

Publishing Integrations

Jottler supports automatic publishing to various Content Management Systems (CMS). During setup, you connect your site to one of the following platforms:

  • WordPress
  • Webflow
  • Shopify
  • DropInBlog
  • Framer

Articles can be configured to:

  • Land as drafts for review.
  • Publish immediately.

Robots.txt Configuration

Jottler provides a robots.txt generator tool to control how search engines crawl and index your site. You can define rules for different user agents and specify allowed or disallowed paths.

Example robots.txt
# robots.txt generated by Jottler
# https://jottler.io/tools/robots-txt-generator

User-agent: *
Allow: /
Disallow: /admin/
Disallow: /private/

You can configure the following within the robots.txt generator:

  • User-Agent: Specify which crawlers the rule applies to (e.g., * for all, Googlebot, Bingbot, GPTBot, ChatGPT-User, CCBot, anthropic-ai).
  • Disallow Paths: Add specific paths that search engines should not crawl.
  • Allow Paths: Add specific paths that search engines are allowed to crawl, even if a broader Disallow rule exists.
  • Sitemap URL: Specify the URL of your sitemap.
  • Crawl Delay: Set a delay in seconds between consecutive requests from a crawler.

Other Settings

  • Seasonal Content: You can add seasonal topics to your content calendar, and Jottler will write and schedule them in advance.
  • Team Members: Jottler plans include unlimited team members.
